5 Boats That Will Have You Dreaming

DATE POSTED:May 29, 2020

Boats have captured people’s imaginations for as long as they’ve existed. In an instant, a beautiful yacht posted on social media–or a new listing in your inbox–can transport your thoughts to those “someday” cruising plans on your horizon. They can conjure up visions of the perfect day in some not-so-distant future onboard your family’s dream boat. That’s one reason why we all love boats – they take us places, both real and imagined.

Lately, all of us at YachtWorld have found ourselves dreaming about boats just a little more than usual. In fact, it’s hard to only highlight a handful of distracting boats when there are so many recent debuts and great boats hitting the market.

Let’s take a look at five boats that will definitely have you dreaming.

Hatteras GT65 Carolina Hatteras GT65 Luxury Sportfish Yacht

The Hatteras GT65 Carolina commanded our attention at the 2020 Miami Yacht Show where she made her first appearance. Everything about this vessel is exactly what offshore fishing dreams are made of!

With speeds topping 40-knots, four generous staterooms, three heads, a voluminous cockpit, an expertly arranged flybridge, luxury finishes, numerous options and high-tech gadgets she delivers competition-level performance with comfort and style. The anglers I know are designing their dream rod and tackle setup right now! Others are plotting a course to cruise the islands or creating a checklist for other saltwater sports like bottom fishing and diving.

The Hatteras GT65 Carolina was made for living large and big water, so put a tender on the bow and she’s quite possibly the most versatile boat of the bunch. See her complete specs and general arrangements.

Grand Banks GB54

Grand Banks’ highly-anticipated new 2020 model, the GB54, arrived at the company’s U.S. headquarters in Stuart, Florida this spring and had her virtual unveiling at the Palm Beach International Boat Show. I’m anxious to step aboard and tour her in-person and dream of a Florida evening spent sipping champagne and watching the sunset from one of her three open-air decks! Although, considering fresh breezes and 360-degree views make their way to the interior through Grand Banks’ signature large electric windows, my dream could also easily be satisfied indoors in the salon.

Certainly, this style of motoryacht is designed for enthusiasts to spend extended periods of time aboard, so start planning your voyage! With a warped, semi-displacement hull, the model offers seaworthy comfort and classic, yet contemporary, style.

The company explains that the GB54 comes with choices. The bridge design comes in both flybridge and an enclosed skylounge configuration, and the galley can be either an upper or lower layout. The debut model features a standard two-stateroom, flybridge, galley-down layout.

Where will she take you?

Princess Y78 Princess Y78 Luxury Motor Yacht

A floating sanctuary, the new Princess Y78 is the perfect yacht to explore dream destinations such as The Greek Islands, Capri and Saint-Tropez. She has space to lay out in the sun, wine and dine, and kick-back with the people you love most – and with Twin MAN V12-1800, the Y78 is perfect for motoring around the world with the wind in your hair with speeds up to 36 knots.

This vessel makes lounging on the sunpad of the flybridge while sipping a cocktail the perfect afternoon activity, and the spacious galley is enough for a chef to prepare a culinary delight for dinner. A stunning full-height window on the port side offers a most spectacular view and is the place to dine and entertain.

Once you are ready to retreat for the evening, the private owner’s suite awaits, and for the family, all three en-suite guest cabins have the luxuries of home. In total, she has four staterooms, sleeping a total of eight guests on board, and is also equipped with a crew rest for up to three full-time crew.

Ranger Tug R-29 Ranger Tugs R-29 Pocket Yacht

When the dream is combining a love of camping, motor homing and boating (i.e. boater-homing), a tug that can be put on a trailer is the perfect fit. Imagine being the topic of conversation wherever you go!

The Ranger Tug R-29 is highly talked about and does just that. Popular with long-range “off-grid” cruisers across the country, she often takes her owners to the evergreen-lined shorelines of the Pacific Northwest, the historic fishing communities of the Chesapeake Bay, or through the Great Lakes to tackle the Great Loop.

With amenities like a stove, air conditioning, a private stateroom and head, this charming, packed-to-the-gills 29-foot boat serves as a great liveaboard, and really suits the boater-homing lifestyle. The R-29 has mighty strength and her size and shallow draft allow her to slip under bridges and navigate many waterways with ease.

The R-29 has me curious and if you are too, stop dreaming and take the next step by browising Ranger Tug R-29s for sale on YachtWorld now.

Summit MotorYachts – Summit 54 Summit 54 Motor Yacht

Launched this year, Summit MotorYachts is an entirely new motoryacht brand to tell you about that comes with excellent pedigree. The full-displacement trawler experts at Kadey-Krogen Yachts dreamed up the Summit 54’, a planing hull design, for a new, faster cruising purpose, but with their trademark quality and livability obvious at every turn.

A closer look at the flagship model, the Summit 54’ is a timeless design crafted with calming, clean lines inside and out, as well as proper boarding gates, fully-walkable side decks, and sweeping views.

The entire aft end of the boat dramatically opens up and is filled with all the features that make the most of weekends – no kidding, she has an impressive 330-nautical mile range at 23-knots! Just as the company states, this boat brings a new perspective on lasting comfort and sophistication.

A dream come true for Krogen enthusiasts who desire speed, and for any discerning boater for that matter, the Summit 54’ is sure to be a respected and beloved yacht.

Final Thought

One thing all these dream-worthy yachts have in common is a fantastic flybridge. Warm, fresh breezes must be calling me. It’s good to always be dreaming. What better to be dreaming about than a boat?
