The Offshore Yachts 54 Pilothouse, Argonaut, is listed for sale at $798,000 with Luke Brown Yachts. The 2005 long-range cruiser has only had two owners and has seen more than $300,000 in upgrades since 2013.
The Offshore Yachts 54 Pilothouse has bluewater-capable construction with a hand-laminated, bi-directional fiberglass hull reinforced with vacuum bagged Core cell–opting for a vinylester hull laminate for osmosis protection. For the structural areas above the waterline, the engine stringers and hull door openings, the builder used unidirectional laminate.
Split mechanical controls manage the vessel’s twin 700 hp Caterpillar C12 diesels. Courtesy Luke Brown YachtsThe heart of any pilothouse motor yacht is the helm. This 54-footer has split controls to throttle up and maneuver the yacht’s 700 hp Caterpillar C12 diesels, which provide 16-knot cruise speed. Top speed is 23 knots. The yacht’s 4-foot6-inch draft makes it a Bahamas-friendly vessel.
Electronics are from Simrad. Other notable piloting assistance comes from a hydraulic bow thruster (new in 2022) as well as Wesmar stabilizers. When guests want to keep the captain company, there’s an L-shaped dinette abaft the helm station’s two Stidd chairs.
The U-shaped dinette is to port upon entering the salon and that’s a hi-low table. Courtesy Luke Brown YachtsThe galley is well-appointed for long passages and has two granite countertops and top-notch appliances, including a Sub-Zero under-counter refrigerator and freezer, a Fisher Paykel dishwasher, a Princess oven, a Sharp microwave/convection oven, a Kenyon three-burner cooktop and a stainless-steel sink.
The salon benefits from the natural light from the main deck’s nearly 360 degrees of glass. There is s a U-shaped settee with a hi-lo folding table to port. A flat-screen TV is tucked away in the starboard-side cabinets.

It also has the flybridge where guests can enjoy alfresco dining at a dinette abaft the two-seat helm station. It’s worth noting the two Stidd helm chairs pivot 180 degrees for additional table seating.
Belowdecks are the two staterooms, including a forepeak VIP with a centerline berth and an amidships master, both of which have en suite heads and private stairwells.
