Regal by definition means ‘suitable for a king.’ And Status Quo, a Horizon Yachts Premier 130 listed with Atlantic Yacht & Ship Inc. for $8.749 million, is a tri-deck superyacht that fits the definition.

The 2009 build saw refits in 2017 and 2021. Some of the work included updating the interior styling, increasing the stabilizer size, a superstructure paint job, a full hull paint job, refinishing wood floors, new carpet throughout, new appliances and more.

Status Quo could make a solid charter offering thanks to the yacht’s variety of entertainment spaces, inside and outside, across three decks and its six-stateroom layout that accommodates 12 guests.

The on-deck full-beam owner’s suite is located forward of a foyer and day head, accessed through the office on the starboard side. The suite boasts a hand-crafted, walk-around king-size berth, an en suite head, walk-in closets and volume-enhancing windows. The sense of luxury carries to the staterooms belowdecks, especially the VIP stateroom, which Atlantic Yacht & Ship Inc. says “would comfortably serve as the master on many yachts of similar size.” The forward VIP stateroom has a king berth with a hand-crafted silk headboard, a marble-finished foyer and an en suite head. The four remaining en suite staterooms consist of two queen-berth staterooms and two twin-berth staterooms.

Stepping into the salon, guests will appreciate the classically styled interior with rich, dark cabinets and wall paneling accented with detailed inlay, contrasted by light ceilings, furniture and carpets. The marble and onyx soles and countertops add to the sense of opulence.

Status Quo has a conventional salon layout with a lounge space aft and formal dining forward. Aft, two three-person sofas are positioned around a decorative glass-top coffee table to port with a three-person bar directly to starboard, while views through the picture windows lining the salon make the whole space feel voluminous. Forward, a circular dining table with room for 10 to 12 people offers a next-level dining experience.

Past the forward bulkhead is the well-appointed galley, featuring state-of-the-art appliances and enough stowage for extended voyages. Appliances include a full-size refrigerator and freezer, two sinks, a cooktop, an oven and a microwave and a convection oven.

Heading aft from the salon leads to the cockpit where guests will find seating at the transom as well as a fixed table and loose chairs, forming one of two outside alfresco dining locations aboard Status Quo.

Status Quo‘s bridge deck is an extremely flexible entertainment space with the pilothouse forward, the skylounge amidships and the open-air deck aft. Seating can be found in all three zones from the dinette in the pilothouse, to the sofa and four-person bar in the skylounge, to the loose furniture, fixed bench seat and lounge pad on the aft deck.

Up one level, sun deck social zones include a U-shaped dinette for alfresco dining, a four-person bar if drinks are desired, a lounge pad, a Jacuzzi and a space for loose chaise chairs in case guests need additional sun-soaking space.

Twin 1,825 hp Caterpillar C32 diesels power the 130-foot superyacht to a 16-knot top speed and a 12-knot cruise speed. Reported range at cruise speed is 1,600 nautical miles.

Status Quo accommodates eight crew with a captain’s cabin on the bridge deck and three additional crew cabins belowdecks. which can be accessed via the transom door or from the portside main deck companionway.
