A new name has joined Italy’s yachting scene. Forte Yachts, created by Ameglia-based West Navaltech, makes its debut with the Forte 47, an aluminium yacht that emphasizes efficiency, spaciousness and versatility.
West Navaltech has spent recent years earning a reputation for building high-performance steel and aluminium workboats from 14 to 50 meters, as well as supplying hulls, superstructures and components to major yards. The launch of Forte Yachts marks a new chapter, separating the company’s commercial projects from its leisure craft while drawing on the same industrial expertise.
“The creation of Forte Yachts marks a strategic expansion,” says Livio Franchini, Technical Manager and partner. “We wanted to separate our workboat production from our leisure brand, keeping both worlds independent but complementary.”
The Forte 47 reflects that approach. Designed by Paolo Giordano with naval architecture from Umberto Tagliavini of Marine Design, the 14.3-meter yacht is available in both outboard and inboard versions. Its walkaround deck, modular aft layout and open interior create surprising volume for its size, including two full-height cabins and two bathrooms. Ceiling heights below deck exceed two meters, a rarity in this segment.
Co-founder Fernando Moricca says the brand’s name carries dual meaning: strength, inspired by aluminium’s durability and the Italian word “forte,” as well as a nod to Forte dei Marmi, the seaside town known for elegance and style.
Forte Yachts will present more details of the Forte 47 during the 2025 Cannes Yachting Festival, with its stand located at Palais 094.
