Azimut Magellano 27M Brings New Perspective to Long-Range Cruising

Azimut has unveiled the Magellano 27M, the first model in the third generation of its Magellano crossover series. The new yacht brings together Finnish designer Jarkko Jämsén’s sculptural exterior work and Italian architect Michele De Lucchi’s warm, wood-focused interiors, with an architectural loggia overlooking the sea as the centerpiece.

The Magellano 27M measures 88 feet 7 inches and carries forward the series’ emphasis on comfortable, long-range cruising. Her main deck is conceived as a continuous, light-filled living space, with extensive glazing and wooden architectural elements inspired by Mediterranean pergolas and patios. The result is a relaxed connection between the interior and the surrounding seascape.

Wood is the dominant material throughout the interior, with light oak, walnut details and textured surfaces creating depth. The owner’s suite and saloon feature a mix of striped, engraved and sculpted wood, while Japanese craftsmanship influences details such as Naguri hand-chiseled side tables and a headboard wall covered in handwoven Hosoo fabric.

Outside, Jämsén’s design emphasizes clean surfaces, a vertical bow and the series’ signature wooden stern louvers. A distinctive loop element traces the yacht’s profile, balancing precise, engineered lines with softer curves that reflect the sea and sky.

Beneath the design is Azimut’s Dual Mode hull, developed by the Azimut|Benetti Group R&D Department with P.L. Ausonio Naval Architecture. The double-chine hull and vertical bow are intended to soften wave impact, improve directional stability and support efficient cruising across a range of speeds.

Carbon fiber accounts for about 30 percent of the yacht’s surfaces, helping reduce weight, while Azimut’s Silent Technology addresses noise and vibration. An optional Zero Emission Hotel Mode allows the yacht to operate at anchor on lithium-iron-phosphate batteries without running the generators.

The Magellano 27M also marks the latest step in Azimut’s pursuit of quieter, more efficient cruising, pairing advanced systems with an interior designed to make long passages feel less like travel and more like time well spent.
